Sydney Cruise Terminal – White Bay

The project located at White Bay Berth No 5 consisted of the demolition of various buildings and construction of a new cruise terminal. Works involved the temporary diversion of the private HV network & eventual disconnection. Removal of redundant HV Transformers and associated switchgear, installation of new Electrical services, Communications Infrastructure, Security & Access Control Systems & Fire Detection Systems.

There was also the integration of all power and communications services to the 2 new Gangways which were shipped in from Spain to tie into the main terminal building.

Barnwell Cambridge was engaged under a Design and Construct Contract based on 50% concept scope from an electrical consultant to provide the following:

  • New Sub Mains
  • New Main Switchboards and Distribution Boards
  • Supplies to:
      • Lifts,
      • Escalators,
      • Mechanical boards
      • New Gangways to Ships
  • General Power and lighting (Internal / External)
  • Monitored Emergency escape lighting and exit signage
  • Lighting Control System
  • Final sub circuits, outlets and accessories
  • UPS Systems
  • Communications Network Cabling
  • CCTV Installation
  • Security Installation
